Xenia stared inside the house while standing outside on the opposite curb. The big Xmas tree was lighted up with fairy lights all twinkling and casting an ethereal glow all around. The bitter Delhi cold was already at its peak and the chilly winds hit her face while she pulled the flaps of her jacket closer together. She felt unreal as she stood there, more than two years later, on the same road, where she had once said her good byes to the ones she loved and held close. She had not known then that she will not be back again until two years had passed. All the pleading and requests, apologies and threats had failed to move her and she had turned a deaf ear to all.
